design for feelings
&Â space time
â¨đ
virtual public gatherings where we explore the beautiful squish of experience design
feelings, space, & time
the fundamental ingredients of experience
The craft of designing experiences is, at its core, about both designing for the feelings and designing for space and time as meaningful and malleable materials.
In these workshops we'll dive deep into a single feeling, or a relationship of spacetime, to understand how we might design with these tools.
And in doing so, we'll develop a more nuanced and tactical understanding of how to create intentional, impactful, and exceptional experiences.

design for feelings
Each session begins with a very specific feeling.
Weâll wanderâthrough sound, sight, texture, tasteâcollecting the things that make us feel that way.
Then, together, weâll unpack the layers.
Name the unnamed.
And leave with a small library of images, sounds, and sensations to draw from long after we part.
đ
design for space time
Each session begins with a single relationship of spacetime.
Weâll feel around itâmeander through its landscapes.
Not attempting to converge on a unifying theory of spacetime.
But rather wading within the layered relationships of space and time and feelings â the subjectivity and beauty, and the quiet strangeness of how we experience the world.Â

"đŤÂ One of my favorite moments is catching Olivia's public virtual gathering ⨠Design for Feelings â¨.Â
Each month is an invitation to deep dive into an emotion; unpacking its nuances and exploring how to design intentional, multi sensory experiences that truly make you feel.
đ With these sessions, Olivia has created an inspiring space to flex that Experience Design muscle; to reflect on how to craft experiences that are immersive, meaningful, and emotionally resonant."

about Olivia & the Studio
Hi, I'm Olivia.
I'm an experience designer, facilitator, and the founder of The Design for Feelings Studio. Previous to studio life, I was a long time IDEOâer and Stanford d.schoolâer.Â
I create spaces for people to find the strange-beautiful parts of themselves that have been left behind, to imagine and move differently, and to meet one another in new ways â all through immersive workshops, interactive events, and multi-sensory experiences.
My work blends story, behavioral psychology, architecture, learning, and play to design interactions and experiences that change us.Â
I love helping people make whatever theyâre making more memorable, more meaningful, more beautiful, and more chaotically and curiously weird.Â
The robots may be here, but that means we need wild-wild-humaning more than ever.Â
